Tinhorn Creek - Cabernet Franc 2023

Tinhorn Creek Vineyards was founded in 1993 with a focus on growing the best grapes, making great wine, and having fun.

Leandro Nosal is the head winemaker. With an undergraduate degree in agricultural engineering, and a Masters of Science in viticulture and oenology from Montpelier, and winemaking experience in Argentina, France and New Zealand, Leandro has a complete understanding of what it takes to make great wine. His guiding philosophy is that low intervention winemaking is the best way to make wines that truly show their terroir. He honed his technical winemaking skills by studying and working with the best in the industry, including Pernod Ricard and Grupo Penaflor.

The vineyards are cared for by Andrew Moon. Originally from Australia, Andrew has a Diploma in Viticulture from Melbourne University as well as a Trade Certificate from Brit Bendigo. Andrew has worked at Ormonhill Vineyards, Colbinabbin Estate, and Freeman’s Bridge. He’s also known for making a really good stout beer! (Not for sale!)

Tinhorn Creek Vineyards has two parcels in the South Okanagan’s Golden Mile, blessed with gravelly, rocky soil and sandy, loamy soil. The Tinhorn Creek Vineyard on the west bench gives the vines front row seating to the sunrise and sweet morning light–Gewürztraminer and Muscat love it. Across the valley, the Diamondback Vineyard soaks up the heat and those intense afternoon rays–Merlot and Cabernet Franc couldn’t be happier.

Tinhorn Creek Vineyards has a deep commitment to sustainability that goes way beyond recycling. They think about carbon reduction along every step of the operation, and actively conserve water in order to preserve the integrity of their watersheds.
